What if further information is needed before the Doctor can agree to treatment and sign the form?
Please consult your clinic SOP.
If a paper consent form was being used, the doctor would not decide if treatment was offered or sign the form until they had received the requested additional information.
From a Fertility Consent perspective the most straightforward course of action would be:
- That the doctor does not complete the WoC until they have received the requested additional information.
- If the doctor wishes to, they can make a note in the note function of Fertility Consent describing their actions
- An unsigned WoC will not stop you or the patient progressing with other stages within Fertility Consent - if appropriate.
- Then, once the additional information is received the WoC can be completed and signed by the doctor.
